39 inches tall. His head is a green apple — round, brilliant, with three small leaves sprouting from the top. A long dark gray coat, well-fitted, over a crisp white shirt and a red tie. Slender arms widening toward hands that suggest branches — subtle, elegant, intentional. His legs are hidden beneath the coat. In his right hand: a wide-brimmed black hat, well-kept, held with the ease of someone who has worn it in many rooms and remembered everything in all of them.

He shows no emotions. He is an apple in a detective coat. That raises more questions than any emotion could answer.
